The Singer
Poetry has been in me since I was small and I love to write how I feel. I loved to sing as well but I never thought I could and I didn't know how to get started. When I turned 30, I was a busy mom but I needed something for "me". Guitar Lessons, a garage band, and a few compliments and I was headed down that never ending country road with more twists and turns than a roller coaster. What a ride....
And I ain't never turning back!
Country Music has taken us to Nashville, Pigeon Forge, Memphis, P.E.I. and Nova Scotia, to Newfoundland and many small communities in our back yard.
I have been given memories and opportunities, I'll cherish forever.
I have been asked if I regret not starting younger. I say "No". I believe there is a season and a time and a place for everything that happens. This is my season.
The Person
I haven't quit my day job, and I'm okay with that. I happen to be fortunate to enjoy 18 years at the same place.
I have a wonderful husband of 25 years who's been supportive since I started this journey only to become a great asset as a sound technician, I've come to depend on his expertise. Now that our family has grown, we are young again. Who says you can't live a second childhood? The world is our playground, enjoy it.
I love country music so much one could say it's an addiction. If it ever becomes a job I'll quit. I must also have the "gift of gab" because I am often asked to Emcee many events.
Wherever we go we meet the nicest people, I appreciate their comments very much, good or bad. I always learn something about others and even myself. People are fun....
The Songwriter
I like to think of myself as just an average country girl with big dreams. I used to think I'd like to be well known, now I just want to be known well.
I have met so many interesting people who share their stories and dreams. I am inspired and Blessed for meeting them.
I love to put my thoughts into words and songs. Mostly as a personal therapy I suppose. What makes them special is when someone else can relate to them. That gives them life.
Songs reveal a part of me in a way I cannot express otherwise. At first I was shy about it, now I'm excited.
Music has helped me grow and I am thankful for this gift and humbled by its power. I am amazed by the people who truly "get it".
I am happy to play wherever you let me.
